Up for sale is an ultra rare vintage Casio Sailboat Alarm Chronograph, model WS-70, produced exclusively for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) in the 1980s and powered by module 145. This model is well known among collectors for the distinctive sailboat animation displayed on the screen, a unique and highly recognizable feature from Casio’s early digital era.
The watch is being sold for parts or repair. After a battery was inserted, the watch is not functioning properly and has not been tested beyond that point. The exact issue is unknown, and it is unclear whether the watch can be repaired.
The watch is fitted with an aftermarket stainless steel strap. It is in good physical condition overall, showing signs of use and age consistent with a vintage digital watch from the 1980s. The photos best describe its physical condition, so please review them carefully.

► ARCHIVE FILE: CASIO — BRAND HISTORY
Casio began not with watches but with calculation. Tadao Kashio founded Kashio Seisakujo in Tokyo in 1946, and with his three brothers developed the 14-A in 1957, the world's first compact all-electric relay calculator, incorporating the business as Casio Computer Co. that same year. The move into watchmaking came in November 1974 with the Casiotron, a digital watch whose claim to fame was an automatic calendar that knew how many days each month had, a small feat of logic that announced how an electronics firm would approach timekeeping.
